This stove is awesome, for the money..its stainless steel, but top is black. There is a bigger one that has a fish burner, and I probably would have bought that one, but it wasn't in stock, so I got this one, which I love..but there is dead space in the center on top where a fish burner would go..and you can't really lay much there as it can scratch the top..its hard to clear, and a pain..but thats how it is with gas stoves, so no surprises there..has to be totally scrubbed after each big meal you make..I aleady have couple stains that won't come off..but I still love it..has simmer burner, and a fast boil burner which works really well..oven is great too..lots of room, that is easy to clean with normal soap and water..

Absolutely satisfied. First thing we noticed when we used it was how efficient it was, especially compared to our 13 year old oven we had. When we cooked something, our old oven would heat up the whole kitchen. This oven is much more efficient. Install was EASY. If you have an existing gas line, do it yourself instead of paying someone else a couple hundred bucks to do it. The only con is that our old oven's gas input was indented a little, so once connected, it pushed right back to the wall. With this oven, the gas input stick out, and so does my gas line protruding from the wall. Therefore, I had to cut a small piece of drywall out, firmly grip my gas line and turn it to the right so it wasn't protruding from the wall, and then I connected it to the oven, which allowed me to push the oven back a little closer to the wall. We've owned it a month, used it a lot, but haven't had to clean it yet, so can't comment how the self-clean works.
