Good TV so far. I was between the Sharp and the Vizio E601i-A3. I decided to spend a little more for the Sharp for a better picture. I previously had a 50" Panasonic Plasma TV that this replaced. Watching some football last night i could see better picture quality overall right away with just standard video settings.
I was on the fence between whether to spend a couple hundred more for the LC-60LE640U or get this, but took the "Dumb" TV instead as wifi DVD players have most of smart tv internet apps anyway. Just like a car, do you want to pay extra for the stock navigation or plug-in your own. Given a year from now, these two TV's will probably be 300 less than today's price, think if spending the 300 extra now is worth it for what the TV's will be valued for in a year or so.
TV sound isn't bad for a TV, but if you plan on watching movies with this TV, a soundbar or stereo system will be a must. Note some of the other post about the optical out for audio as well.
I was going to do a low profile wall mount, but with the location of most of the inputs pointing back (vs on the bottom pointing down or the side pointing out), that was going to be a little tricky for the cords, since i run the cords down the wall (vs running through the wall. So i had to get a wall mount that has a little bit of gap so the cords were not pressed on the wall.
Would like to point out a couple of things for anyone on the fence between this and the LC-60LE640U:
1. The LC-60LE600U does NOT have the advanced picture calibration on screen guide that the LC-60LE640U does. Had i known this beforehand it might have tilted my decision a little, but professional calibration was going to happen anyway, so not the end of the world. CNET had a review and gave preferences for these advanced picture settings.
2. As it mentioned in the specifications, no usb inputs. There is one on the LC-60LE600U, but looks to only be used for firmware updates. Which checking the Sharp website, there was one on 9/17, so make sure to grab the update just in case.

While I love most everything about this TV it has one major drawback. The optical audio output will only output audio that the tv creates so if you are passing audio in via blueray or cable box it wont output on optical audio. I had to pass all video/audio into my sound bar and then have the sound bar output the video to the TV.
Only giving 3 stars due to optical audio issue. other than that is is a great TV

Purchased this item to replace a 10 yr old Sharp 36" TV. OMG, what a difference! The picture is awesome, and I love the ease of HDMI connections. It's like I have my own personal movie theater; sans the people yakking on cellphones and other incessant chatter, sticky floors and high theater prices.

I bought this TV after shopping around to different stores. I could not find a TV of this magnitude for the price that I got it for. It is awsome. I am always going to shop at H. H. Gregg. I am fully satisfied with the customer service, the gfreeting and helpfulness of the employees. Most stores the employees are pushy and want you to buy right then and there. But at HH Gregg I told the sales associate I will be back after I think about it. He was fully understanding and not pushy at all. that right there goes a long way with me.

I get a great picture and sound on HD channels. Non HD channels have poor picture quality and sound. How do I address this?Asked on 9/1/2012 by BillKnow the answer? Answer this question
1 answer
A:
Non-HD channels are meant to be viewed with a 4:3 ratio, so if the image is being stretched across the TV, the picture will lose quality. To fix this, go into the video settings on the TV and change the "resolution setting" or "aspect ratio."Answered on 9/1/2012 by Community Answer from None
