I was in the market for a 60"+ LCD around Black Friday and I knew the models I wanted were still out of my price range of a $1K or less. So I thought, what the hey and started reseaching plasma screens.
I was one of the guys who never looked at plasma after learning about the potential for image retention when the technology was new... you know, images burned into the screen. Well, that issus is all but eliminated with today's plasma screens.
After doing the reseach, I found the Samsung PN60E530 was exactly everything I wanted in a new television. Big, beautiful and cheap! Let me tell you, I am picky when it comes to screen image and this bad boy is EPIC!
The first thing that hit me when I got mine home and setup was a color I had not seen in while on television... BLACK! MIDNIGHT INKY BLACK! The first show I watched was The Voice and the black in Adam's tux was jaw dropping. It had been so long since I'd seen the color and what passed for black, dark grey, on my LCD's that I was stunned. On to the rest of the rainbow of colors!!!
After watching the new screen for a bit I was floored by how brilliant the color is on a screen that is a 30% cheaper than the LCD I had my eye on, and there is no comparison - this sceen is how television should be viewed. Every color of the spectrum is represented in amazing hues that are crisp and bright.
I'm sore that I'd been fooled by LCD and ashamed that people like me have hindered plasma sales with my misconceptions.
BUY THIS TV!!! Don't look further. Only one thing bothered me, glare... the screen catches backgroud lights. I had to relocate a lamp - but no bigie. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Comments about Samsung 60" 1080p Plasma HDTV:
Walked in to HH Gregg yesterday. Was taken care of and was sold what I asked for. I purchased this TV and a sony soundbar with powered sub woofer. They promptly got it to me and helped me load it. It is large and took three of us to mount it on the wall but the picture is great and the soundbar is nice and loud and it makes you feel like you are in the movie. This is a great plasma tv and is much better then the lcd I exchanged it for.

Awesome picture! The picture quality is excellent, great color and outstanding black levels. Setup was very straight forward. Picture looked great right out of the box. This tv doesn't have alot of bells and whistles but it doesn't need them. The only thing I wish it had is a couple more hdmi ports (it only has two). You can't beat this tv at this price level. Extremely satisfied.

Love everything Samsung! Had an old 27" cluncker in my bedroom and a 50" LCD in the livingroom. Purchased this 60" to go in the livingroom & moved the 50" into the bedroom. Never had any problems with the 27" Samsung cluncker! And it was over 11 years old.

Comments about Samsung 60" 1080p Plasma HDTV:
This TV has a great picture. I am using it in my basement theatre room. I have it conneceted to a Samsung HW-E430 sound bar which really helps improve the sound quality. It has 2 HDMI ports which is good, but make sure you do not need more (aka video signal, xbox, Apple TV, etc). The only bad news is that for some reason this TV does not support the Samsung "anynet+" function. So I cannot control my Samsung sound bar from my Samsung TV remote control (nor time warner remote control). Very Strange that a new Sasmung TV does not support this.

Here's how it works:
- Place an eligible item in your cart and choose the Pickup In-Store option.
- Click "Check Availability"and enter your ZIP code. Items available for Pickup In-Store are available for pickup within approximately one hour. Select the store where you'd like to pick up your purchase.
- Complete your order.
- Wait to receive confirmation e-mails:
- Order confirmation – Verifies that we've received your order.
- Ready for pickup – Confirms that your item is ready for pickup. It will also tell you what to bring to the store.
- At the store, look for the Customer Service Desk — or ask the Associate at the door to direct you to the right place.
Bring to the Store:
- Your government-issued photo ID
- The credit card used for the purchase (if you used one)
- Your order number (for a speedier processing)
