This was a great TV for the price. I bought it for my daughter to use when she goes to grad school this summer and it was a nice sized TV for what we paid. The picture is very good and the remote is easy to use. I was looking for something in the 30-40 inch range since her apt is small so this will be great for her since it is on the high end of that size range. I am using it now to give it a test drive and I have only two complaints. The glare is a little bad (but I do have outside light coming in) so when I buy a TV to replce this one this summer I will be looking for something with a slightly more matte finish. The other issue is the limited connection options. No audio out other than digital audio and only a few input connections. This was not a show stopper for me but I would not buy this as my primary TV due to limited connection options but for the current price you can't have everything. Good TV and a great price for 43 inches so for a second TV or for a college student this is a great buy.

This was a very good set for the first two months of use. It developed a reddish hue in the 4:3 area. If watching a HD program in 16:9 mode the area where the black bars would be located are brighter then the rest of the picture. Called service and the serviceman brought out a new screen but did not install, said it was burn in because of watching to many shows with the black bars. Was told to use the scrolling feature to remove burn in, have used now for 20 hours and there is no change. Service is coming out next week and I will see what happen. I hope they can figure, this out because I like this TV, will give it 5 stars if they can fix this problem.

Q:
Can I connect this tv to a regular antenna or satellite with coaxial cable or does it need special hdmi type connections.I cannot tell by the website what kind of connections this set requires. A close-up view of these connections would show me what is required!!! JosephAsked on 2/15/2013 by Butch from Beverly Hills FloridaKnow the answer? Answer this question
1 answer
A:
The TV has 1 coaxial, 1 component/composite and 2 HDMI connections. You can connect the TV via coax to a regular antenna, no special cable is needed. If the satellite receiver has a coaxial output, you can also connect that way. However, most satellite receivers have an HDMI or component output. Cnet has a review of the TV with a back panel picture.Answered on 2/18/2013 by Community Answer from None

what type of tb mount can I use?Asked on 10/12/2012 by nino from bocaKnow the answer? Answer this question

A standard Samsung-compatible wall mount should suffice, look for a VESA-standard wall mount.Answered on 10/12/2012 by Community Answer from None
Q:
I want this tv for video games and streaming netflix/youtube. I hear many horror stories on plasmas and the "burn in" issue but now im hearing that its resolved. Will i run into a problem with this tv for what i want to use it for and if so, is "burn in" covered under any type of warranty?Asked on 8/29/2012 by Bryan xboxFlix from Philadelphia paKnow the answer? Answer this question
1 answer
A:
The "burn-in" issue happens when you leave the TV on, with a static picture on it (like a paused video). If you don't pause a video/your game for a very long time, then you should be fine. This issue is classified as "misuse" of the TV, so it is not covered under warranty.Answered on 8/29/2012 by Community Answer from None
Q:
My last Samsung Plasma TV had a power supply problem with its capacitors. I am very hesitant to purchase another Samsung. What is the history of any power supply problems with this particular model?Asked on 8/18/2012 by Floyd from Miami, FlKnow the answer? Answer this question
1 answer
A:
Power supply problems are manufacturer defects and should be covered under any television warranty. As for this specific PN43E450 Samsung Plasma TV, there is little documented information claiming that it has any power supply problems. If any power supply problems arise calling the manufacturer should illicit a free repair under the general warranty.Answered on 8/19/2012 by Community Answer from None
Q:
My mother in law needs a TV that gets Closed Captioning. I have read that it can be an issue with HDMI connections, but I have tried setting it up with my current home setup (Panasonic Plasma w/comcast HD box) and was able to make it work (but had to change the settings on the comcast box). Will this samsung decode the CC over HDMI if the cable box supplies it? She also has comcast and can get a similar HD box. Can I return the TV without a penalty if it does not? Even better if I could test in the store (could test with any HDMI input, such as blue ray/etc) I would be getting it at the physical store, and trying it on my working setup at my house. Thank you!Asked on 5/6/2012 by Brian from West Chester, PAKnow the answer? Answer this question
1 answer
A:
Your HD television, no matter what model or brand, can't decode Closed Captioning (CC) over HDMI (and from what I understand, it doesn't work over component cables either). HDMI only transmits pictures, CC is not in the spec. You said that you were able to get it to work by adjusting the Comcast box - THAT is the correct method. Your digital cable box must do the CC decoding, not the TV - then you can view it over HDMI. You have to activate Closed Captioning with your cable box's remote.Answered on 5/8/2012 by Community Answer from None
