I decided that a top loader was my choice. No bending down to put close in and out specially if wet. I like to keep thing simple. It has basic washing needs which is what I do.(Does include allow for personal settings) I don't need 20 different was to wash my clothes.
So simplicity, energy and water efficiency, low noise and PRICE was made this machine a winner for me. So far no problems. It live up to expectations!

We got this machine in July 2012 and at only 3 weeks old, the thing just let 10 gallons of soapy water gush on the floor in a matter of seconds that ran into all the adjacent rooms and caused a huge mess. Back it went for a replacement with the assurance that Samsung was great and this was a fluke.
Tonight (February 2013) it happened again on the 'new' machine (less than 6 months old).
There is a water pump on the bottom of the tub that is mounted by a very cheaply made plastic housing which WILL EVENTUALLY BREAK. When it does, the hose fitting on the bottom of the tub that this piece of junk hooks onto has no barbs to at least hold the hose on, so it just slips right off and the water gushes out. STUPID DESIGN. I am an engineer, and I know this is dumb. I will never own a Samsung again. Hope HHGREGG will take this piece of junk back and exchange it for something with a better design, which I WILL CHECK before bringing into my home.
I never write product reviews, but I wish someone had warned me about this. I would DEFINATELY NOT recommend buying this product.

I am disappointed in the water temperature of this product. Everything gets washed in cold water despite selecting the hot water option. When I called Customer Service the first time, the representative stated that it is working as expected and that if you want hot water, you have to select "sanitize" and that this option overrides all other temperatures. Oddly, when I tried to follow her recommendation, I did not find a sanitize option on my machine-can't find it. The second time I called, the rep told me that these energy efficient models only have a certain part of the cycle in which the water gets hot, and most of the wash is done in cold water. I have checked my wash several times and have yet to find the water to be hot. Unfortunately, this water temperature issue overshadows anything positive I might have to say about this product. Lesson learned-I will closely read others reviews on any such future product purchases. Disappointed.

Though free delivery, free install and free haulaway of old washer and dryer is stated early on, I didn't learn of the $79.99 for "delivery" as stated on my delivery copy, the $39.99 for the "electronic dryer delivery kit" and the $14.99 for "washer fill hoses" until I was at the cash register to pay for the deal. There's also the $99.99 option for a 3-year maintenance agreement, 149.99 for 5-year, per machine, that will be mentioned once you reach the cash register to buy. A 10% discount on the maintenance agreement is offered, and I was told I'd get, but for whatever reason, it did not show up on the bill. I haven't yet used the machine as it was it was delivered today, but will comment later. I'm rating it 4 star on expectations, so the review will be accepted.

Can't wash a normal load on normal cycle. have to use bedding cycle which takes 90 minutes!
Doesn't rinse out basket so bleach is left in ruining next load.
Repair guy out twice so far, problem still not resolved. Hoping I can just return this nightmare.

Washer is less than a month old and had to return it because it dumped gallons and gallons of water from the bottom of the machine. It flooded my entire kitchen and laundry room. My hard wood floors are completely ruined!

We got this machine in July 2012 and at only 3 weeks old, the thing just let 10 gallons of soapy water gush on the floor in a matter of seconds that ran into all the adjacent rooms and caused a huge mess. Back it went for a replacement with the assurance that Samsung was great and this was a fluke.
Tonight (February 2013) it happened again on the 'new' machine (less than 6 months old).
There is a water pump on the bottom of the tub that is mounted by a very cheaply made plastic housing which WILL EVENTUALLY BREAK. When it does, the hose fitting on the bottom of the tub that this piece of junk hooks onto has no barbs to at least hold the hose on, so it just slips right off and the water gushes out. STUPID DESIGN. I am an engineer, and I know this is dumb. I will never own a Samsung again. Hope HHGREGG will take this piece of junk back and exchange it for something with a better design, which I WILL CHECK before bringing into my home.
I never write product reviews, but I wish someone had warned me about this. I would DEFINATELY NOT recommend buying this product.

I wish I had believed the negative reviews especially from other sights. All my dark colored cloths come out covered in lint. Many items come out with dry areas - that never recieved the benefit of water in the long wash cycle. Cloths that had spots on them come out still with spots - even though treated with stain remover. Samsung service states to do smaller loads, use less liquid detergent and run a purecycle between ever load - still no change. They basically act like I have no idea how to do wash and that it is not an issue with their machine but with me. Buying this was a big mistake.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Please tell consumer prior to purchasing the irritating chirping sing/song noises it makes to notify you the cycle is done. My nerves scream everytime I hear it and when I called customer service they could not tell me how to silence it.
