This is a good dryer that is easy to use. I have to mention three small negatives that I feel LG can correct. When the chime loudness control is set on the high setting, the musical chime is difficult to hear if the utility room door is closed or if the TV is on. Opening or closing the dryer door requires a little more effort than my previous Maytag dryer. Also, the delivery man told me that in order to maintain the warranty that LG requires a rigid metal vent extension from the back of the dryer to the wall. With my previous dryer, I could use a flexible vent. Anyway, my dryer sticks out 4 more inches from the wall thus not allowing me to close the utility room door. If you have 36 or more inches from the wall to the door opening, you should be OK. My utility room door opens from the kitchen nook in to the utility room. If I had the dryer on the left side of the washer, this would not be a problem.

At first I really liked this dryer but after having used it for several weeks I discovered that it was consistantly leaving laundry damp, regardless of the setting I put it on or what I was drying. Even timed drying on high heat does not give me good results. I bought a more basic Whirlpool sensor dryer a couple of years ago that I left at my old house and it was MUCH better at drying our laundry for about half the price. Clothes and towels do not come out hot and fluffy like they used to. I would NOT recommend this dryer, however, the matching washing machine is wonderful and worth the money.

This dryer, according to LG Customer Service should make noise when it starts and does go away after a little while. However, if I knew before I purchased this unit that it would make a thumping noise I probably would not have purchased it. I've had two reveiws already rejected by LG since I mentioned this noise, so I am not expecting this one to go through either. Guess they only publish positive reviews. Otherwise it works like advertised, although the sensed drying stops when the clothes are a little damp, just set for more dry and it works fine.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Love this dryer! It has a million different settings and features. It is very easy to use and looks great at the same time. My old dryer had to use two cycles for every load to get clothes dry. This dryer actually dries the clothes like it says it will. I love the sportswear mode - always wasted energy drying those items that dry quickly. I got a great price for this dryer and have loved it so far!

When my 12 year old dryer "gave up the ghost" a few weeks ago I was not looking forward to spending the money to replace it as prices have increased in the past few years. However, much to my delight it is already earning its way at our house. The drying cycles meet the types of laundry I do and the drying time is more than half of the old dryer. So I am making back the $$ back on my electric bill. In addition, my clothes are coming out looking much better, fresher, and newer looking without the need for an iron on my husband's "wrinkle free" shirts. Thanks LG I needed that.

After several years of an aging dryer that didn't know when to stop drying, it has been a real relief to work with a smarter appliance. It is no longer necessary to be there immediately after a load finishes to be guaranteed the no-iron features of our garments. Clothes do not get "crispy" and overheated when the setting appropriate for the fabric is readily available. Occasionally, on a large load, one or two things that are heavier need a bit more drying; but, generally, clothes come out looking perfect. I would readily recommend this product, and the "melody" on finishing is a nice touch! I did some online research before purchasing and LG dryers came out quite well in their reviews. Having others' opinions available was very helpful.

This is an excellent dryer with many features/settings to choose from. I also like that you can create custom settings & used timed dry, rather than relying solely on the built-in cycles. The only problem I've encountered is with waistbands, towel edges, and other thick fabric areas that still seem damp after drying cycles finish; I usually just add 20 more minutes & then they're dry, but clearly this detracts from the energy efficiency.
