Outstanding picture & Great 3D

My only criteria for purchasing a new TV, was picture quality and the number of HDMI inputs. After spending a few weeks visiting stores, reading on line reviews, I whittled the choices down to just 3 sets (LG and 2 other comparable competitors TV's). I choose LG's 47LM7600 as this TV displayed the best picture consistently overall, no matter the source. Out of the box, the picture settings are in sunburn mode, and do not show what the TV is capable of. While LG provides an easy to use picture wizard to loosely calibrate the set, I instead opted to research on the internet other users settings for this LG TV. Within a few moments, all 4 HDMI inputs and the 1 composite input (Sony Beta VCR) that I was using, were set up, and I sat back to enjoy the TV. Wow the picture did not disappoint - Sharp clear detail for both Standard Definition & High Definition source material - with color purity and accuracy near excellent. My only negative observation would be slight flashlighting at the top and bottom of the screen about an inch from the corner. Yet, unlike the other brands I compared this LG to, you can only barely see it when the screen is pure black. The TV's speaker sound quality is not bad. However I turned off the TV speakers, and ran the optical out from the back of the set to my surround receiver. Connecting internet is extremely easy. Even though this TV has built in wifi, I choose to connect wired since I had the Ethernet connection already behind the set. I tried out the Netfilx & Vudu aps, and even browsed the internet from the TV's own browser. I was never a fan of 3D and my choice in purchasing this set wasn't based on this feature. Yet, after watching Football on ESPN 3D, and after viewing a few 3D bluray movies, I have to admit the 3D looked great - rather impressive. This TV yet may change my mind on 3D. The passive 3D glasses are not weighty nor made my eyes feel tired. My only negative complaint is the wired dongle I had to use in order to connect my Beta vcr to the RCA composite inputs on the back. I fear that at some time it would pull out - which it did. So when I lost connection to the vcr, I had to remove the set from the wall to reattach the wired dongle which pulled out just enough to break the connection between the TV and vcr. My solution was to zip tie the dongle to the back of the set - not a practical one for a set of this quality. Yet even that minor hiccup does not detract from the overall performance & quality this TV delivers.

The screen should be a non-glare instead surface instead of a shinny mirror like surface. Unless it is operating in a completely dark environment, lighting objects sitting in front of the TV are reflected on the TV screen. It degrades and distorts otherwise excellent very good resolution picture. The smart remote control unit turns out to be an dumb remote control. It is extremely cumbersome to use.It requires more than on push of the button to do a simple task like switching the input source. It is a TV not a PC!

I bought this TV after having saved up for a few months. I read reviews on tv's as well as watched reviews online. I eventually purchased this item directly from amazon. Upon plugging it in I found that the 3-d is amazing, however thats where the praise stops. I bought this tv with the hope of cutting cable out of my life, I had intended to use the apps offered to be my entertainment solution: I found the netflix app to work after waiting what seems like an eternity for the thing to load. The youtube app was all but completely useless. It randomly crashes all the time and has one of the worst interfaces I have ever seen. Hulu and facebook and twitter all work, but have designs that are so outdated that they are basically useless. Internet browser, this suffers from the TV only being able to find the internet 50 percent of the time (*router is in the same room). The "magic" remote control, this is the best feature on this TV, its makes everything so easy to do. After a slight learning curve you're off to the races. Another nice feature is the ability to pipe a media server directly to the TV. However, the shoddy network card in the tv will often lose the signal requiring you to restart your movie/show several times. Some of the apps were so bad that I decided something must be wrong with the TV, as in I had a lemon. After having it serviced (whole motherboard replaced) if found out that there was nothing wrong the tv was that bad at finding the internet. All in all would I buy an LG tv again? Weirdly, yes but only if it was an LG google TV. As I feel those to be of higher quality, dictated by Google I'm sure....

Great picture! People come over and love the picture quality. Some even said that the picture looks fake because it looks Sooo real. I love it so far. I haven't had it that long, so I don't have any dislikes right now and don't plan on having any.

A Suggestion: Swap the Mute Button Wth Select/Enter Button......That Design change will make the Remote functionality Easier and better.

This is my first LG TV and the quality of this TV is outstanding. The picture quality is better than any TV I have ever owned. I absolutely love viewing 3D movies on this set especially not having to wear those big expensive glasses. The design is very nice and brings my entertainment center to life.

What a product, crisp and brillant colors easy to set up. Installed in my custom cabinet, with few modifications to cabinet. Looks great like it was made for the cabinet. Electronic ports simple to hookup to amplifier w/fiber optic cord, Roku with HDMI cord and wifi blue ray player with HDMI cord. 3D is fantastic,with dolby pro logic sound, thru the amp, seems as though your setting in the live action. The 47LM7600 is the best system I veiwed in my 63 years of viewing TV. I would still like # pad on remote.

did not regret this decision -- even in 2d the picture stands out in both clarity and color. The remote is concise and simple and the applications are easy to use once you figure out where to navigate. Only downfall is that recommended updates require a direct ethernet link between tv and modem accordinging to LG wi-fi not able to do this, but updates are not frequent.

It is one of the most stylish TVs out there. The contrast is excellent and the black levels are impressively deep. A few people complain about the speaks. Personally I feel they are really loud, considering how thin the TV is!
