Our last washer lasted 23 years before it hung us out to dry. When we were faced with replacing it we really did our homework. We checked consumer magazines, read on-line reviews and talked to friends. It all kept coming back to the same answer: This particular model LG washer. It's very sophisticated, yet easy to use. We never had to guess when a cycle was completed with our old washer. We could hear it running two floors away. It sounded like a Mac truck going up a hill in low gear. This one is so quiet that I have to look at it to see if it is running even if I'm in the same room. Fortunately it plays a pleasant tone to let us know when its done. It does a great job while using less water and energy. If it drew any less current it would be generating power. The energy guide's triangle was all the way to the left. It even weighs each load so it knows exactly how much water to use. Its a huge improvement over our last washer. The lights dimmed whenever the motor started. Our neighbors must have thought we were executing small animals. So far we couldn't be happier. Our clothes get cleaner and because it does so well on spin that drying time has been greatly reduced. We actually feel foolish that we waited until our old machine died and parts were unavailable before we bought this one. We are even saving money on detergent. We still need it, but we use less per load. LG has been great with followup as well. They have mailed us links to videos that show how to take full advantage of the advanced features. The washer even came with a laminated card giving us step by step instructions, not that we've need it. My recommendation is that you get off the computer and head down to your local appliance store. Your house will be a little quieter and your clothes will be a little cleaner. Did I mention that your electric and water bills will be a little less too? That's what I call a washday miracle.

It does a great job cleaning but...the valve water filling banging open and closed at a ridiculously loud and rapid rate when first filling is incredibly annoying. When the machine spins, the detergent door rattles. I almost exclusively use the 'cotton/normal' setting which the machine indicates will be 52 minute cycle but don't anticipate getting laundry into the dryer until 60-65 minutes. Washing winter coats on 'large/bulky' setting with soil level heavier than default is well over 1.5hrs! The charming little melody at the end of the cycle has become annoying and is now turned off. Just not a 5 star appliance

I bought this along with the matching dryer (DLEX2650W) and I can only say good things about the pair. Beautiful looking, efficient, modern, and plays tunes at the end of the cycle! I have always been an LG fan and would recommend both of these items to anyone who can afford it - it is worth the little extra that you'll pay verses the cheaper brands that come with a more limited set of features. This was a housewarming gift from my parents, so I didn't have to take the hit to the wallet, but I will say that I looked thoroughly at everything else on the market and this was the best choice I could have made. LG is at the very top of the list for reliability of front-load washers (I think they are even #1 actually), and my past experiences with LG are nothing short of excellent, so I knew I was making the right move.

My wife absolutely loves the washer. It cleans the clothes great! The best thing to me is the speed wash. I can clean clothes quickly and they come out nice and clean! I highly recommend this washer.

I bought this with the matching dryer to stack in my laundry nook. This allowed me to install storage where my side by side configuration used to be. I was very unhappy with my old washer/dryer. They were 2 years new, but they ate my clothes and it took forever to wash and dry. The LG is marvelous and looks wonderful. In an extended household of 6, I do 20 loads easily in a week. Everything comes out clean and it is very easy to use. The controls are very intuitive so even though I read the manual and listened to the installer, I have used every level once, but find that the standard normal does 90% of my loads and you can wash quite a lot of clothes in one load. Love the tap water setting! It does not rip off sleeves or destroy delicates. If coins or toys accidently get washed, they do not end up in the pump or under the tub making noise.It has only given me an error message once and that was for an "unbalanced" load. Even though my last one was a top loading HE, I noticed my water bill went down. It is a delight to do laundry again!

This is our first LG product. It was definitely a great buy. I love the size of the loads this can handle. I can wash all of our families bath, hand, and kitchen towels in one load. It definitely saves me time . It also does not knot all of my clothing together like my last washer whose name rhymed with ayhag...so I am not spending 10 minutes just to untangle my clothing before I put it in the dryer. Love this washer...and yes we bought the dryer too. That is awesome as well.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We purchased this LG washer as a replacement for another brand's frontloader which we had for 7 years and which recently broke. We LOVE the features, and performance. The clothes actually smell clean when they come out of the washer. The spin cycle is so efficient that our drying times have been cut by a least one third. Overall, this is a great value and we highly recommend it!

You may use any liquid laundry detergent, but being high-efficiency means you may get away with using less soap. A high efficiency washing machine is one that washes clothes using significantly reduced levels of water and energy.
