We inherited an old side by side in a house we recently bought. Not only did it not work well, it stuck way out into the room and ruined the sleek built in kitchen look we desired. This new counter depth LG fits snugly into the space, looking almost built in, and the shiny stainless finish is a very rich look. But beyond cosmetics, this is truly a new generation refrigerator. The interior is brilliantly designed and smartly utilizes every cubic inch wisely. The LED lighting is awesome. We were worried that this refrigerator would not be quite large enough, but after a month or so we realize that due to it's design it is more than adequate. Everything is sort of in reach and line of sight. Things don't get lost in the back anymore. Out of date things are more easily spotted and discarded. Everything has it's place. 2 gallon milk jugs fit perfectly in the door for instance. Part of a shelf retracts to accommodate taller items. A small rack on the underside of the right door accommodates soda cans. I didn't even know this was there until I read the manual. With the temp and humidity controls, I am convinced that things keep longer. The temps seem very even throughout. The bottom freezer is a world of it's own, with drawers on top of drawers of varying depth, there is a place for everything, even a giant frozen turkey or large pizza. Ice cream is at the perfect temp. A little rack for small items on the top inside of the drawer front is easy to get into and would otherwise be wasted space. Probably my biggest concern with this model was the ice maker. I love the ingenious thin design, placing the compact ice maker and bin snugly in the door, and not consuming valuable internal space like most refrigerators. And I love the smaller ice cubes that seem to work and look better in drinks. But we live in a desert climate where it gets very hot and we like to have an evening cocktail or three, sometimes out in the hot sun around the pool. So I worried that this unit could not pump out enough ice for us and we would need to buy ice regularly. But the ice maker recycles quickly. We have never even come close to running out of ice. There is also a button you can push to increase ice production when you think you will be needing a lot. And just for backup, the refrigerator comes with a sturdy plastic ice bin that fits like a glove into the middle freezer drawer. So, every once in awhile, I put a few glasses full of ice from the ice maker into the reserve bin. It's now full and ready to be used in an emergency. But, alas, we have yet to need to dip into it, even when entertaining a few friends. The water and ice dispenser on the front is different than most other refrigerators too. You can put tall things, like a pitcher, under the spigot. The ice dispenses flawlessly. The whole apparatus screams "quality and precision", including LED lighting. The water stream is precise and stops on a dime, as does the ice dispensing. Push button controls with LED digits are on the front allowing such things as setting temperature settings. About the only thing I would change is the 3 produce drawers. They work very well and keep meat and produce fresh, but 2 larger drawers would provide more flexibility. A bunch of celery will not fit, for instance, and must lay on the shelf above. By my calculations, this unit will be at least 20% more energy efficient than our old one, likely more considering that it is slightly smaller and uses the latest technology and insulation. Alarms alert you if a door is ajar or left open too long. The unit runs very quietly, and is barely noticeable. The water filter works well and appears sturdy and easy to remove. A light alerts you when to replace. And the air filter? Well I've never had a refrigerator with an air filter! What a concept. Although I have not used it and hope I never have to, if there is a problem with the refrigerator, you can call LG and hold the phone up to a little speaker above the door, press a button, and the refrigerator sends an encoded tone that conveys diagnostic information to the LG rep. This will tell them what might be wrong so that when a service person does arrive, they will know what they are dealing with. Is this out of the box design or what! All in all, this is a very futuristic and well designed unit. Cramming all this capacity and all these features into a much more shallow, counter depth box is a major accomplishment. And for all that engineering and design, you do pay a little more for this unit (thus my rating of 4 stars for value). But for us, it was worth it and it is a joy to interact with this fine piece of engineering on a daily basis.

The refrigerator is nice looking but has some major flaws. My two biggest complaints are the produce drawers and the ice maker. The produce drawers are so small that I am not able to store many things in them. This week for example, I brought home some bok choy and romaine and was unable to fit either of them in the drawers. There are three of them all in a row and I think two would have been better so that larger items could fit. My second complaint is the ice maker. The ice maker is in the refrigerator door, so each time the door is opened the ice is exposed to the cooler air and causes it to melt some. Eventually the ice will no longer dispense out of the door dispenser. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this purchase, especially given the price point.

We've had this new LG refrigerator for about 2 months now, and it's already part of the family. Very quiet and it seems larger to me, as we've not been able to fill it up. We found some "hidden" shelves which we weren't aware of when we purchased, and that just makes the value of it a little higher to us. Ice maker is quiet and is capacity-perfect for our family of 4. I was a little worried about the design of the water dispenser, but I havent seen a single drip so far. I hesitated on the value rating #considered 4 stars for a bit#, but ultimately decided on 5 stars, as I ended up paying a little more than I wanted to for this. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase. Shout out to HH Gregg for the great service and delivery team. Nary a mark on my brand new kitchen floor!

Moved into a new home where a counter depth fridge was the only option. However, everyone around me said don't do it! There just isn't enough space. Some have even bought regular depth, but regretted that as they stick out too far. I searched and searched and discovered this refrigerator. It is awesome! All the space you could every need inside, and an ice maker that makes enough ice that we can store some in the extra container in the freezer. The only reason I didn't give it all 5 starts is the freezer. Although the concept of the 3 drawers sounds nice, it does limit your freezer space. It would be better with two drawers so when you have a lot in your freezer, you can shut the drawers without them getting stuck on food. I often have to rearrange items in order to not get them stuck on upper drawers when closing. I feel my freezer is smaller than it would be without all three drawers. Concept sounds good, but the execution isn't. Otherwise, I highly recommend this refrigerator! Everyone around me is looking at getting one of these, as well as new people moving into the area with the same issues I had! Buy it! You'll love it!

Well thought out and constructed. Designed with more than adequate, highly usable spaces and nice additional features. We could not be happier with this purchase. Product support is excellent (although we have had NO problems, they send occasional little e-mail notes to maximize use, for those of us who don't memorize manuals. :-)

We love our new frig and especially appreciate how much food it holds for a counter depth model! We've had several other counter depth units and this is the first to easily accommodate a lot of food! The lower freezer holds much more than it looks like due to the three compartments. They're very easy to access and all the contents are visible.

I purchased this counter depth french door fridge to replace my large side by side unit. Can a fridge be super sexy...but this one is! I wasn't sure about a french door fridge with the freezer on the bottom and bending over but the drawers are laid out in such a way it's actually EASIER to get into than my side by side was. I love this fridge! I have a lot of storage room on the inside as well as on the inside of the doors for the condiments. The only negatives are really just annoyances. The beeping when the doors are open for longer than 30 seconds can be a tad annoying when I'm putting groceries away and the left side of the fridge door will slam shut unless you have it open far enough. At times my ice has been hard to dispense . Overall this is a great fridge that was designed well and the lighting on the inside isn't overbearing.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

When I saw this refrigerator at the appliance store, I thought it was the most beautiful refrigerator that I had ever seen. I could not settle for anything less in quality or style after reviewing the details of the refrigerator. The refrigerator fits perfectly into my kitchen space and has given my kitchen an updated look without remodeling. The refrigerator has a large capacity refrigerator and freezer space that looks empty compared to the way my other refrigerator looked. I love the way the ice maker is in the door and out of the way. The exterior is much easier to keep clean than my previous stainless refrigerator. I can't say enough good things about this purchase and even though it was expensive, the quality is there.

We are very happy with our refrigerator. Its a perfect fit for our cabinet depth. Lots of space, and like the 3 drawers across, easy to use, and the ice maker doesn't take up any refrigerator space, and the freezer is so easy to organize with the extra shelf.
