Automatic cycle with low heat input, ideal for fragile garments and fabrics.
A special cool down period at the end of the cycle helps to reduce wrinkles and ironing chores.
A brief period of agitation to help loosen and remove heavy soils and stains that require extra care.
The cycle of choice for common laundry loads such as jeans, towels and underwear.
The overall depth, measured in inches.
The overall height, measured in inches.
The overall width, measured in inches.
Bleach is poured directly into the gravity-flow dispenser before adding detergent and the wash load. As the wash fills, bleach thoroughly mixes with the water, between wash basket and tub to ensure only diluted bleach comes in contact with washload.
The detergent dispenser holds and automatically dispenses the detergent at the beginning of the main wash cycle. Detergent is properly diluted before coming into contact with the wash load. Warm water is used regardless of water temperature selected.
Dispenser automatically adds fabric softener during the deep rinse portion of the cycle. Diluted fabric softener is held in an inner chamber until the centrifugal force sends the softener into the outer chamber where it mixes with the rinse water.
Pre-wash dispensers are only found on a limited number of models. This allows customers to automatically dispense detergent during a pre-wash or soak cycle.
An international standard for energy efficient consumer products originated in the USA.
The color of the portable.
A washer/dryer pair that takes up half the floor space (the dryer sits on top of the washer at an angle). Ideal in places where space is limited.
Washer capacity, measured in cubic feet, determines the maximum laundry that can be cleaned in your washer.
The add-a-garment light is lit during early portion of most cycles, allowing you to pause the wash and add that forgotten sock or shirt.
3 most commonly used tub materials. Porcelain on Steel - Resists scratches and harmful effects of laundry chemicals. Stainless Steel - Stain-resistant material is long lasting, modern and easy to clean. Painted Steel - A practical durable finish.
Energy Star® is the national symbol for energy efficiency. Appliances that have the Energy Star® label save energy and prevent greenhouse gas emissions by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines by the U.S. EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy.
The manufacturer's warranty period for labor.
The manufacturer's warranty period for parts.
The rotating mechanism in top-load washers that moves garments from the top of the tub to the bottom through the wash and rinse cycles.
Your garments will look better and last longer by using proper water temperature. Detergents, bleaches, and fabric softeners require specific water temperatures to work their best. Many washers will include several wash and rinse temperature options.
Different wash/spin speed combinations allow you to wash more types of clothing in ways that are safest for the fabric.
Standard models let you choose water levels for different size loads, but some models offer more water level options. Washers with automatic water levels use sensors to determine load size and adjust water level for optimum cleaning and rinsing.

This washer is good for the average user. It is very basic and does not have many bells and whistles. It is a little loud, but you get what you pay for. That being said, this is a good washer if you are fine with basic features. However, I do have a few negative comments. The delicate cycle goes through weird periods of what sounds like heavy agitation to no noise at all. I am not sure if it is actually delicate or not. Also, you cannot open the lid during some cycles as the washer will quit working until you shut the lid again (even though the lid does not have the locking feature which turns most buyers off).

Comments about Estate® 3.1 Cu. Ft. Top-Load Washer:
I have heard airplanes/motorcycles/boats that make less noise then this washer. The washer is in my garage and I am embaressed to use it. The neighbors must think I have a 30 year old washer, this one is so noisey.
Spend a little more and get a good washer!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Estate® 3.1 Cu. Ft. Top-Load Washer:
This is the second time I've bought this particular brand from HHGregg. It is very affordable and has always been reliable. I had the other one for six years and left it at my old apartment still in good working order. For the price, I can't imagine a better washer.

Q:
Has anyone noticed how much water is in the basin during the rinse cycle? I see barely a liter of water.Asked on 5/22/2012 by Anonymous from United StatesKnow the answer? Answer this question
1 answer
A:
See page two of the manual. It doesn't specify when yoy'll have lower than normal water from the old machines, but the rinse cycle is apparently set at the factory to low water(small load) level. It should be about the same height as the wash cycle for small loads. I have one and I do not like it but Whirlpool was force to do it by law. This model has been made by Whirlpool for about thirty years.
