Returning a Purchase

Merchandise may be returned within thirty (30) days of the original purchase date.

Return Policy

Policies

  1. The original sales receipt must be presented at the time of return or exchange. hhgregg will attempt to locate lost receipts in our Point of Sale system if one is not presented or available at time of return or exchange.
  2. Merchandise must be returned within thirty (30) days of the original purchase date.
  3. Merchandise must be in its original condition and include all original packing materials, accessories, product literature and warranty cards.
  4. Merchandise must be undamaged and intact.
  5. If returning an order by mail, the item can only be returned AFTER obtaining authorization.
  6. Customer is responsible for shipping or transportation fees.


Limitations  (Seller may make exceptions on certain items at our discretion) 

  1. No refunds or exchanges on appliances will be made once an item is installed unless the item is defective or has concealed damage.
  2. If an item is special ordered, a 100% non-refundable deposit is required and will not be refunded if the order is cancelled or the item returned unless the item is defective.


Non-returnable items

  • Items that have been damaged through intentional or accidental abuse
  • Labor, delivery and/or installation charges
  • Activation and Services fees associated with Satellite, Moible Phones and other subscription based services
  • Pre-paid cards (e.g. music, photo, video, gaming or phone cards)
  • Bedding
  • Personalized items
  • Non-defective, opened video games, music, movies and computer software
  • Consumable items such as ink cartridges or batteries
  • Cancellation of any services required for operation of a product such as cellular phones or digital satellite systems is the sole responsibility of the customer


Mobile Phones

When returning a Mobile phone or wireless subscription device, it is necessary for the customer to cancel the service directly with the carrier. Failure to cancel service may result in additional carrier charges. The customer is responsible for any past and future carrier charges incurred and must work directly with the carrier to make payment. hhgregg is not responsible for any charges incurred by customers from carrier or other subscription services.

Mattresses

Tempur-Pedic comes with a 90-day trial period. Serta iComfort comes with a 120-day trial period. Trial periods and comfort guarantees apply only to mattresses and do not include foundations or pillows, which cannot be returned under this program. For all other mattress purchases, hhgregg offers a 45-day comfort guarantee – if within 45 days of your purchase you are not satisfied with your selection, we will exchange it for a set of equal value, or customer may select a set of greater value and pay the difference. Mattress exchanges may be made one time only. Returns not valid in some states.

Special Offers / Bundles

Customers can return an individual item that was a part of the bundle package. In some cases special pricing was offered as a part of the bundle pricing. As a result, the refund amount may be less than the original purchase price if all items that constituted the bundle are not returned.



Restocking Charge

If the item is returned within thirty (30) days of the purchase date but any of the above conditions are not met, a minimum restocking charge of 20% of the purchase price will be deducted prior to the refund unless prohibited by law. Any product that was purchased when a mail in rebate was available on the purchase is subject to having the amount of the rebate deducted from the refund amount. Any product that is returned without a promotional item included with the original purchase will have the value of the promotional item deducted from the refund amount.

Refunds

hhgregg will process the refund in the same form as the original purchase. For all original purchases where the sale was paid for with a credit card, debit card or hhgregg credit card, the refund will be made back using the original account.

There are certain restrictions for cash and check refunds. Refunds over $250 for cash or check sales will be paid by check within ten business days after the item is returned or the order is cancelled.

We will do our best to process the return or exchange quickly. Please allow 10 to 14 days for processing.

Returns in Store

Avoid additional shipping charges by returning your purchase to one of our retail store locations. Along with your purchase, you will need:

  1. Your original sales receipt
  2. All original product manuals
  3. Accessories and packaging are required to avoid restocking fees


Returns by Mail

Please follow the steps below to complete a return by mail.

  1. If your purchase was shipped to you and/or you're not able to visit our store, call us to obtain a Return Authorization Number at 1-866-974-7344 Monday through Friday, from 8am to 6pm (EST) or Contact Us.
  2. Pack the following items together, in the original packaging if possible:
    • Product (must have the original manufacturer box or carton)
    • Include all original packing materials
    • Manuals
    • Accessories
    • Warranty Information
  3. Include your Return Authorization Number (no returns will be accepted without presuthorization)
  4. For proof of delivery, we recommend that you return items via UPS ground or insured USPS. Freight charges are your responsibility. However, if your original product was damaged, defective or the wrong item shipped, we will credit you for all reasonable freight charges. Please include the charge for freight in your paperwork.

Returning a Delivered or Installed Purchase

If you want to return or exchange an item that was delivered to you, please call toll-free at 1-866-974-7344, Monday through Friday from 8AM to 6PM EST or Contact Us to arrange a pickup time with our Delivery Department.  

Home delivery and set-up, hook-up charges and installation fees are not refundable.

Returns and exchanges made at hhgregg stores require a valid photo ID. hhgregg accepts the following forms of photo identification:

  • U.S. driver's license
  • U.S. state ID
  • U.S. military ID
  • Passport

Getting Receipt Copies

Online Purchases

For hhgregg.com orders, you can get a copy of your receipt online:

  1. Go to the My Account page
  2. Sign In to your account.
  3. Select "Order History" from your options on the left.

In-Store Purchases

To obtain a receipt copy, please go to your local hhgregg store and ask a Customer Service Associate. They will be able to reprint receipts in store.
