One thing I've always liked about the PowerShot line is Canon continues to make available a few cameras that take normal, replaceable AA batteries (not just an internal rechargeable). This is important for me for my usual use, where recharging is not possible. This model has a greatly improved 12x optical zoom for a replaceable battery camera. I do have to remember to flip up the flash on this newest camera, as it wasn't necessary on my old one. (Just a new routine) I feel this is a real nice point and shoot, and has some fun features like monochrome, toy camera and other effects. I look forward to having some fun with this.

I got this camera as a step up to my point and shoot. I used to do photography in high school and college and have since given up my my expensive camera and missed quality shots. This camera has taken great shots during a variety of occasions including outdoor in cloudy and sunny siutations, and indoors with low or artificial light. I have had a blast experimenting with the different settings such as sepia, black and white, selective color, and fish eye shot options. All in all, I could not be more pleased with this purchase. Great buy for the price!

I got this camera thinking that it would be a great replacement for my powershot SD790IS DIGITAL ELPH that my toddler broke. It wasn't. It eats batteries and the flash has to charge often. My other camera never had to do that. I purchased high quality rechargeable AA batteries thinking that would help and it didn't. I am disappointed in this purchase. I've missed several moments like my 3 month old smiling because it wasn't fast enough recovering from the previous picture.

One thing I've always liked about the PowerShot line is Canon continues to make available a few cameras that take normal, replaceable AA batteries (not just an internal rechargeable). This is important for me for my usual use, where recharging is not possible. This model has a greatly improved 12x optical zoom for a replaceable battery camera. I do have to remember to flip up the flash on this newest camera, as it wasn't necessary on my old one. (Just a new routine) I feel this is a real nice point and shoot, and has some fun features like monochrome, toy camera and other effects.
